Purpose.
The purpose of The Grief Warrior Project (https://www.warrior-project.org) is to save lives, and help make life worth living for anyone affected by suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts, and/or the completed suicides of someone s/he loves.
The Grief Warrior Project’s primary purpose is help to those at risk of suicide to develop the skills they need to obtain some relief from their emotional and physical pain, thereby improving their quality of life, and reducing the likelihood of suicide attempts and completions.
The Grief Warrior Project’s secondary purpose is to provide support & information to family members and friends of those who have suicided, or those who may be at risk of suiciding, to give them an increased awareness of the signs & symptoms of suicidal thoughts so they can have the chance to intervene appropriately, and – we hope – never have to go through the hell that the suicide of a loved one leaves in its wake.
Vision.
Our Vision is that The Grief Warrior Project will be a change agent in creating a world where suicide is no longer seen by some as the only way out of ending extreme emotional and/or physical pain. We want to live in a world that can provide hope and value in everyday life for those who are in such significant emotional and/or physical pain. We want to save lives.
The Grief Warrior Project will be a significant source of hope for those living with severe physical and/or emotional pain, as well as family members & friends who fear for the lives of the despondent individual they love so much. For those who have lost loved ones to suicide, we want to help them find peace and a purpose for going on.
Mission.
Our Mission is to provide a safe, welcoming environment where those at risk of suicide can find strength and reasons to continue with life while overcoming the terrible despondency & hopelessness that lead to suicide attempts & completions. A secondary mission is to support family members and friends of those at risk of suicide, including after the fact if necessary.
We will be a significant source of hope for those living with severe physical and/or emotional pain, as well as for those family members & friends who fear for the lives of the despondent individual they love so much. For those who have lost loved ones to suicide, we want to help them find peace and a purpose for going on.
The Warrior Project will start with one location, in Lewiston ME, and replicate itself wherever needed. John Kelly Snyder will not have died needlessly.
